Enjoy two days of weaving as you explore an adaptation of Berea Sunflower, an overshot pattern from Marguerite Porter Davison’s A Handweavers Pattern Book. Leslie Fesperman has adapted the pattern specifically for this woven square.
The finished square (approximately 4 ½ x 5) is a versatile little piece for everyday use -a place for a beverage, a small treasure, or something special on your table, windowsill, desk or anywhere you would enjoy a touch of handwoven beauty.
Our Weave Alongs are designed to feel a little like walking into a kit that is ready to go. Your loom will be warped and ready for you, and all materials needed for the project are provided. We’ll begin with an overview of the structure and the draft, followed with minimal instruction as you settle in and weave.
This is an independent weaving experience rather than a traditional instructional class. Participants should be comfortable reading a draft, following treadling sequences, and working independently at the loom.
