Join fellow weavers for a relaxed weekend of weaving as we create either a set of placemats or a table runner with a design inspired from M. Davison’s Monk’s Belt in Summer and Winter.
Think of this weekend as an in-person weaving kit. Your loom will be warped and ready when you arrive, allowing you to spend your time doing what you came to do—weave!
This weekend is designed for independent weavers who are comfortable following a draft. Before we begin, we’ll have a discussion covering the basics of the Summer & Winter weave structure. Participants are encouraged to join the conversation, ask questions, and bring examples of previous Summer & Winter projects to share, as we will spend Friday afternoon sampling and planning your project and talking just a bit about color…
Each loom will be dressed with a natural warp. You’ll be able to choose from a limited selection of pattern weft colors, including:
● Lipstick Red
● Antique Gold
● Avocado
● Hummingbird Purple
You’re also welcome to bring your own 5/2 pearl cotton pattern weft if you’d like to personalize your project.
Because this is a weave-along rather than a traditional workshop, instruction will be minimal. The focus is on enjoying the weaving process and the company of fellow weavers.
Your registration includes:
● A pre-warped loom
● Warp and a limited selection of pattern weft
● Use of all weaving equipment
● Lunch on both Saturday and Sunday
Hours: Friday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
