Join us for a day of creativity, sustainability, and shared knowledge at the Yadkin Valley Fiber Center as we celebrate Earth Day through rag style weaving. This open, free event, welcomes everyone- from experienced weavers to the simply curious.
Saturday April 18
10 am - Rethinking Reuse -
a short presentation and group discussion exploring what “reuse” really means in today’s recycling world
1 pm - Make your own Rag Shuttles
Learn how to create simple rag shuttles using materials you already have at home. Practical, resourceful and easy to replicate.
2 pm - Community Rag Swap
Bring materials to share and exchange with others .Suggested items include:
Cotton fabrics
Sheets
Textile selvedges
(Please no synthetics or heavily worn materials)
4 - 8 pm Earth Day Celebration at the Heritage Center
